Chance to Win Salary to Play Poker Available Through PokerStars

PokerStars aims to provide its players with the best of online poker services in every form. The group is well known for their interesting and tempting promotions, and yet again they have proved themselves with another offer that has come up

Being open only to USA players, PokerStars is running the Dream Job USA promotion to lead players into a tournament. This offer has a reward like the other promotions PokerStars has had. It is a twelve month contract paying $100,000 dollars to play poker under the PokerStars name.

The twelve month contract will not only include the fabulous salary, but also a $5,000 dollars monthly and $40,000 dollars to spend on buy-ins in the worlds largest live poker events. The main event of this promotion will be a $109 dollar buy in tournament and the winner of this tournament will get the amazing contract and a chance to play classic poker.

Though $109 dollars can be somewhat steep, PokerStars is not without sympathy. Every day until November 28th, the day before the main tournament, steps and satellites are running for cheap entrance into the main event. For $1.10, players can enter the $11 dollar main satellite to the main tournament. Frequent player points can also be expended in order to enter these satellites. For 10 frequent player points, entrance into a step tournament is allowed. For 1,000 FPP’s, players will be able to enter the satellites directly. There are also freerolls running in order to enter satellites, allowing all kinds of players to have a shot at this once in a lifetime opportunity.

This great opportunity, by PokerStars once gone, may never return. Satellites and steps are running until November 28th, but the main event does not kick off until November 29th at 19:00 ET.

Buying into the final is the easiest way to enter and requires only $109 dollars. This means a minimum bonus of $109 dollars free for those players who would be making their first deposit, thus taking advantage of the 100% match to $600 dollars up for grabs by all new players.

Young stars shine at PokerStars EPT London

The PokerStars EPT London main event was a huge success and played down to the final 24 Monday and it appears that the young crowd was pretty active.Along with older poker players like John Juanda, Jeffrey Lisandro and Chris Ferguson there were also younger ones who did quite well. More PokerStars pros!

“I think they have an edge just because they are so fearless,” said 2007 WSOPE main event champ Annette Obrestad. “They’re used to playing so many tournaments and they really don’t give a shit if they bust. At this stage of a tournament they’re really not scared of four-betting all in with like six-seven. If they have a read on someone they are just going to go with it”

2009 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure winner Benny Spindler reached the top of the chip counts as the tournament went on. The 24-year-old from Darmstadt, Germany starting playing online three years ago and believes the style he learned on the Internet is as effective live.

“The young players all come from the Internet and have a much different approach to the game than the older live players,” he explained. “It’s much more aggressive and it seems that it’s much better.

Another player, Seattle’s Vivek Rajkumar, 23, also sits among the leaders here in London, and he says adding another gear to your game is just as important.

“I used to play like that one or two years ago, but people are really too good now,” the Full Tilt pro said. “People know how to play back at over-the-top aggression, so you have to tighten up, especially if you have an aggressive image. More Full Tilt poker pros!

Obrestad, who’s been playing since the age of 15, says she’s matured as a player and is starting to understand that patience in poker is almost as important as aggression.

“I actually started out playing live (very aggressively) and after a while I saw it wasn’t working,” said the Betfair Poker pro. “I was busting with stupid hands and pots I shouldn’t be involved in – stuff that’s just so unnecessary.”You have so much time and the blinds go up so slowly, you can just grind it out; take it easy”.

Obrestad is now starting to reap the benefits of playing tighter with a loose image.

“It’s unbelievable how some people just don’t give me any credit at all,” she said. “To be honest, I would really like to be able to get away with more stuff, but I don’t. I can’t do anything about that. My image is already there, now I just have to take advantage of it.”

World Championship of Online Poker ends, winner takes $1.7M

The World Championship of Online Poker has once again come to an end and from this event have emerged some great winners! The recent addition to the list of winners is the Ukrainian player, Yevgeniy “Jovial Gent” Timoshenko who brought down the field of 2,144 players in the PokerStars World Championship of Online poker to bring home $1.7 million dollars.

An entire month of high stakes tournaments ended Monday, with the main event yielding the largest prize pool of all of the events. The game was No Limit Texas Hold ‘em, and the stakes were $5,200. The top 306 of the tournament brought down a prize, with the lowest prize still being a gain of $3,000 from the $5,000 dollar buys in. Even the second place winner took home $1 million dollars, causing this tournament to create two millionaires over night.

In total, the WCOOP gave out prizes equal to $51,652,800. More than 112,000 players took part, and over 104 different countries watched players in the money. Among these 104 countries involved, the United States won the most first place positions.

Twenty-five of the bracelets handed out by the WCOOP went to USA players, with the United Kingdom taking the next largest set of four. One player, djk123, minted money more than any other player, making money 11 times, and was at more final tables than the rest of the field. More USA Online Poker!

The WCOOP comes once a year, and this year the games featured 45 exciting events over 18 days. The next WCOOP starts in around a year’s time, and all PokerStars pro players are legible to attend. Anyone else who is legally able to gamble in their jurisdiction may sign up for PokerStars, and feel the magnetizing power of their newly revamped deposit bonus; a 100% match to $600 dollars.

PokerStars is the largest and most reputable online poker room, and there is not a day that goes buy that over 100,000 players are not actively tossing chips around the tables.

PokerStars World Series of Online Poker (WCOOP) Crowns First British Winner

The PokerStars World Series of online poker has always had high achievers throughout the event. Following on from the United Kingdom’s great run of form at this year’s World Series of Poker, another British player has maintained the country’s fantastic recent record by taking down a World Championship of Online Poker event on PokerStars.

The Briton, who plays under the online handle MUSTAFABET, took down the Pot Limit Omaha Six-Max event to secure a first prize of $86,247 and an all-important WCOOP bracelet after surpassing a total of 2,738 runners that included Bertrand ElkY Grospellier and Barry Greenstein.

The victory was certainly a very challenging one for the UK-based player who, playing in a different time zone did not finish his night’s work until 9.00 in the morning UK time, which means a full 14 hours after the tournament had kicked off. Although, when the final hand did eventually come about, the chips found their way into the middle in no time.

With MUSTAFABET sharing a 4-3-5-3-Q board with his only remaining competitor, Brunswick Dave, an all-in and a call saw both players turn over absolutely huge heads-up hands. Brunswick Dave showed 7-3-J-Q for threes full of queens, but MUSTAFABET had him jagged with 5-4-9-5 for a bigger boat with fives full.

The hand ensured that MUSTAFABET picked up his first WCOOP bracelet and finally put the UK on the board for PokerStars’ flagship series, with his victory coming on the back of a solid performance at this year’s Spring Championship of Online Poker, where he also made the final table in the Eight Game event.

Poker Stars to Give Away $1 Million in WCOOP 2009 Seats

When it comes to online poker, the PokerStars provides its players the best it can whether its monetary terms or the games it offer.

Recently the PokerStars.com has added a total of one million dollars for the 2009 World Championship of online poker seats, which are running daily from August 4th to 6th.

According to a Poker room manager, Mike Jones “We’re calling them the WCOOP Extreme Satellites, harkening to extreme sports in the sense that we’re having a massive giveaway in the satellites,” he further went on “In every satellite, we’re going to be adding 50 to 100 seats to the prize pool. We’re throwing in literally $1 million worth of seats completely as added value, and those satellites start as low as $7.50.”

For the Extreme Satellites, players will win their way into a WCOOP tournament of a certain buy-in such as $109, $215, etc, instead of specific tournament, so that players are able to choose their desired tournament.

There WCOOP tournament also has special qualifiers running every day until the start of the series, which commences on September 5th. Just like the World Series of Poker satellites, PokerStars also has Steps tournaments which start at $7.50. The 2009 WCOOP will feature 45 events, and this is expected to be the biggest online poker series it has ever held. Read more!

“Despite the issue with the economy, we still had good growth in our business over the last year, so I think we can expect that, to some extent, at least to translate into participation,” said Jones.

The WCOOP will feature new tournaments such as, a $109 no-limit hold’em with a $1 million-guaranteed prize pool, as well as new formats, like the $215 “big ante” no-limit hold’em tournament.

There will be no mini-WCOOP with similar events with lower buy-ins, a trend PokerStars employed for its most recent Spring Championship of Online Poker.

According to a manger Alex Scott” We wanted to keep the prestige of the WCOOP intact,” “The WCOOP is the World Championship. At the same time, we’re offering cheap ways to get into these tournaments.”

The WCOOP includes faster dealing compared to last year’s series, synchronized breaks for its events, and new payout and blinds structures.
