Bodog Brand Online Poker Network Announced

The Bodog Poker is at it again, with another target to achieve and add to its fine reputation. This time it’s called the Bodog Network. The brand is yet again expanding its existence in the online world with an aim to secure a gaming license with the ability to attract and fully service European Union poker operators.

The development of a completely fresh Bodog-branded poker network is the main event for the network which also plans to incorporate new domain names and poker rooms into the group of sites during the next year. The former Chief Executive Officer of the Ongame Poker Network Patrik Selin has secured compulsory obligations from all Bodog online gambling brands as initial network licensees.

Calvin Ayre founder of the successful Bodog Brand, stated, that “I am extremely excited about this new licensee of BodogBrand.com; Bodog Network is the first business to business enterprise to license the brand and the fit simply couldn’t be better. Patrik Selin’s very detailed business plan and proposal were very compelling, and after building Ongame into a network powerhouse under his leadership, his abilities and credibility are unquestionable.”

Mr. Selin gave his opinion saying “I intend to build one of the largest and most reputable poker networks in the world, and we are building a model that is founded on security and integrity, and Bodog Network partners will never need to disclose or put their customer databases at risk. The initial discussions I’ve had regarding potential candidate partners have been overwhelmingly positive,” adding, “As the network comes online in 2010, we will naturally be extending the network to non-’Bodog’ branded operators. Those discussions are already underway.”

Selin was CEO when Bwin acquired the Ongame Network in 2006 after which he also served as the President and CEO of GNUF and Betway. Selin is a respected European industry expert and is expected to do very well with the Bodog Branded Network.

Online Casino Sends First Player to World Series of Poker 2010

The Bodog casino, like all online casinos aims to create a platform, from which it becomes recognized among the casino industry. Recently the leading casino Bodog.com has become one of the first sites to hand out a seat in next summer’s World Series of Poker held in Las Vegas after recently completing their Mini Poker Series promotion.

There were 13 events before the ultimate grand final and the Bodog customers managed to earn a place in the last tournament of the series by either placing in the semi-final tournament or by getting a position in the top ten of the competition’s overall leaderboard.

Overall, 82 runners took part in the fabulous series’ curtain-closer and in the end it was regular online player John Ormsby, a regular online player who emerged on top and won himself a $12,000 package to next year’s World Series.

John Ormsby, aged 25 and residing in Michigan is an experienced poker player especially in the context of the Bodog’s site, having spent the past four years digging out a profit on the limit Hold’em cash tables, although the seat in the 2010 WSOP will be the first time that Ormsby has ever played in a Series.

“I hope to go out there early and play in a couple of other events first,” said Ormsby of his preparations for Main Event. “I was in Vegas years ago when I was younger, but it was before I played poker. I know there are lots of juicy cash games around town to play in during the WSOP and I’m looking forward to it all.”

Despite winning his seat in next year’s Big One, Ormsby was keen to stress the fact that poker would remain nothing more than a just his leisure time activity. “I think it’s every poker player’s dream to win a WSOP bracelet, but I don’t see myself playing poker professionally. I would rather keep it as a hobby at this point,” he stated.

WSOP Qualifiers at Bodog Poker extended till June 14

The WSOP Qualifiers for poker players are still going on at Bodog until June 14. It is never too late to get the word out. Bodog welcomes its players to qualify for the 2009 World Series of Poker.

At present, there is only one tournament that can guarantee poker immortality, and only one online poker site that is making it convenient than ever to get there. BodogPoker has guaranteed 5 WSOP Main Event Prize Packages every week, two awarded on each Sunday. Due to a considerable decline in tournament entries, it has become especially easy to win a seat in the 2009 WSOP Main Event via the online poker room.

Jean-Robert Bellande, Bodog Poker Pro expressed, “The Main Event is the one tournament we all dream about winning, and the simplest and easiest way to make that dream come true is here at Bodog.”

In the past two weeks, Bodog.com has seen an average of 66 players competing in the Sunday tournament. Even with such low entry rates, Bodog Poker continues to dole out the two promised WSOP Main Event Prize Packages each weekend.

It costs $250 to buy-in to the tournament directly, but more affordable satellite tournaments are held throughout the weekend, awarding a seat in Sunday’s WSOP Main Event Semifinal tournament. As to why participation levels have been so low, this can only be speculated; but the fact that the Sunday Main Event Semifinals are held at 3:15 a.m. ET might have something to do with it.

Bodog is the world’s pre-eminent online gambling destination offering players top-class sports betting in its Sportsbook, a Vegas-style online Casino with more than 75 games, a feature-rich online Poker Room and a wide variety of tracks and wager types in its Racebook.

Bodog is celebrating its 15th year as a trusted and respected leader in the online gambling industry.

Right now in the Bodog Poker Room, the online poker powerhouse is giving away at least one Bodog Flight Club Package a month to major tournaments in Europe, South America and North America, with most events featuring prize pools over a million dollars.

Winners of a Bodog Flight Club package receive buy-in to the main event, travel expenses, spending money and instantly become a member of Team Bodog, complete with loads of Bodog gear and articles written up about their progress so friends and family can follow results from home.

“Take it from me, it doesn’t get any better than playing in a major tournament in an exotic location as a member of Team Bodog,” says Bodog Poker Pro David Williams. “The Bodog Flight Club is a once in a lifetime opportunity to compete for serious money against the best in the world, all while having an adventure only Bodog can deliver.”

The next Bodog Flight Club departure is the LAPT event in Punta del Este, Uruguay, held Mar. 18-20. Qualifiers are running daily at Bodog Poker for as little as $1 or 100 Bodog Poker Points, and all lead up to the LAPT Uruguay Semifinal event on Monday, Feb. 16 at 9:00 p.m. EST, where at least two Bodog Flight Club prize packages to the LAPT Uruguay are guaranteed. The winners will join Bodog online player “Nate Avenson”, who will be heading off to Uruguay in Bodog style after winning a prize package during Bodog’s Super Bowl Special tournament.

Next up after Uruguay will be the “Flight Club – San Remo” event on Monday, Mar. 16 at 9:00 p.m. EST, where at least two more Bodog Flight Club prize packages are guaranteed to the event in San Remo, Italy, held Apr. 18-23.

Not already playing poker at Bodog? Being new has its rewards as Bodog is giving all new players automatic entry into six exclusive qualifiers for the Sunday $100,000 Guaranteed tournament. Each week 25 seats will be given away for $100,000 qualifying tourneys.

The Sunday $100,000 Guaranteed is Bodog’s big weekly tournament, and it is back from its break over Super Bowl weekend when Bodog hosted a special Sunday tournament for its players. A total of $20,000 in added prize money was awarded, or approximately $50 added per player, proving once again that no other online poker site gives its players greater value for their tournament dollars.
