PokerStars to Host Belgium Online Poker Championship in October

Recently Poker stars announced that they are going to bring its brand and a premium live poker experience to  Belgium via the Belgian Online Poker Experience. The buy-in is €1,700, but qualifiers are available for as little as €2.20. The tournament is scheduled to run October 9 – 17.

Along with its main event, PokerStars is also going to host a€110 Ladies Event, €1050 Freezeout, and a novel €5,200 Team Heads-up tournament.

While most of the BOPC Satellites are only available to residents of Belgium. The feeder system for citizen’s works like this: €2.20 Daily Rebuys feed into €27 Weekly Qualifiers that feed into €215 Super Satellites. Win the Super Satellite and you are in the BOPC Main Event! Belgium players can also partake in a €33 Rebuy on Sundays in which one seat is guaranteed. The winners of these BOPC event qualifiers will enjoy 5 nights in a local hotel and 5 buffet vouchers.

International players will follow the same feeder system as above but without the €33 Rebuy Event. The Super Satellite for players outside of Belgium will take place on September 26.

PokerStars 2010 WCOOP to Start Soon!

Poker players are always in search of good tournament for participation, so for those players PokerStars is going to host one of the best online poker tournament series, known as World Championship of Online Poker. This time it is one of the top hit series then ever.

Now players can qualify in extreme satellites for just $1 and guarantees a total of $50 million. 888 Poker Income Falls 36 Percent in Second Quarter

Today 888 , an leading online gaming operator made an announcement as their total operating income in its B2C poker unit fell 36% to US$8 million in the second quarter of 2010 from US$13 million in the same period of 2009.

Recently 888 poker also acquired a license to keep an online poker business running in France, and also acquired a social media gaming company. The total number of active members in B2C poker business had also fallen down with the sudden downfall of 15% to 122,000 from 142,000. That means earlier meaning income per active poker customer was down 25 percent to US$66.

During the first quarter of the year 2010, total operating income from B2C poker was 25% lower at US$20 million in comparison with US$26 million in the first half of 2009. 888 poker also operates with the sports book, bingo casino and B2B units with the total operating income across all units remain fixed in the second quarter of 2010 at US$61 million compared to the same period a year earlier.

888 said that: “in line with general online poker trends” noting that, “Trading throughout this period has been challenging, impacted by a number of factors including general online poker weakness, adverse F/X and, in relation to Poker and Casino, the soccer World Cup.”

The company also said that 888 were also contacted by a couple of rival gaming companies about merger opportunities in the stir of last week’s announcement that major industry players bwin and PartyGaming were to merge.

Titan Poker’s Professional Team Makes Stellar Appearance in Las Vegas

PartyPoker, amongst the top leading online poker rooms has recently made an announcement regarding their next month’s promotion. Party Poker said that they are going to host a special three-in-one promotion next month. Team Party Poker Marches through WSOP Main Day 1

Day 1 of the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event came to an end last Thursday and the dust settled, Team Party Poker come forward almost safe as the tournament moves on to Day 2.

Tyron Krost who is one of the newest members, is now going to lead the way for Team Party Poker.  The Aussie did not have a very winning WSOP leading up to the Main Event, cashing just once for $6,763, but through a small ball strategy, he grew his stack from 30,000 to 86,575 chips on Day 1B.

Most surprisingly, the lovely Kara Scott has the second largest chip stack of the remaining members of Team Party Poker, sitting pretty with 68,625 chips.  Starting at table 327 in the Amazon Room’s orange section on Day 1D, Scott posted Twitter messages throughout Thursday, keeping her fans updated on her progress. While Dragan Galic also had an excellent Day 1A, finishing with double his starting chip stack and Giovanni Safina finished Day 1B with 48,375.

Bodo Sbrzensny is still alive, but with short stacks of 14,675 chips and the “Ambassador of Poker,” Mike Sexton, with 12,500.  According to the Party Poker blog, Felipe Ramos also made it through Day 1A, but unfortunately we didn’t find his name on the chip count list. Antanas “Tony G” Guoga didn’t participated this time in the Main Event as he decided to leave the WSOP, citing tiredness and unsatisfactory results.

According to news, 2,391 players registered on Day 1D, while the total number of participants at the Main Event this year is 7,319 that make it the second largest Main Event in history.

After Harrah’s takes its cut, the total prize pool for the Main Event is $68,798,600, with 747 players getting paid. The first prize of $9 million in the WSOP this time is the third largest grand prize in WSOP history.

Day 2 of the 2010 WSOP Main Event has already begun yesterday and will continue till tomorrow.  The survivors from Days 1A and 1C will combine on Friday for Day 2A, while the survivors from Days 1B and 1D will meet on Saturday for Day 2B.
