VISA and Master Card Blocking Online Poker Site Payments

Playing poker was not difficult to play before but now it seems that it will become a little difficult to play around. Since the arrivals of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act U.S. players have found it increasingly difficult to play poker online.

Now the largest credit card providers in the United States, Visa and Master; both are going to block the transfer of fund to gaming sites. It’s been speculated by the ERG Magazine that the credit card companies have been prompted to act by the outcome of a particular federal case.

Canadian Douglas Rennick has been charged with illegally control around $350 million worth of transfers to and from online gambling sites. His most recent appeal completed just a few weeks ago with the blameworthy result being upheld. By this result both the companies get scared of similar federal punishment, so they have decided to cut off all online gambling companies.

Now the questions arises is that how credit card companies will get to know that players are sending money to a gambling site. There are different types of codes assigned to each of the payments that are given by the credit card companies. And these codes tell them that what type of money service is in use.

Gambling companies can use the code 7995. Companies could use the different codes to get around the card block. But MasterCard claims knew about it and therefore they are coming down even harder on transfers to businesses that they feel may have been miscoding their transactions.

Most of the online poker sites are accepting eWallet or paypal or MoneyBookers transactions. But everyone’s looking forward if the parliament is able to put a process in place for lawful and in time online gambling in the U.S. And if new bills are not introduced before the deadline, then it will become even harder for the U.S. players to play and participate in the online poker.

Party Poker Quietly Ranks in Top Three Largest Online Poker Rooms

January was an amazing month for the poker industry as Party Poker suddenly jumped into the ranks of the top three largest online poker rooms of the world. Many didn’t even notice that Party Poker crossed iPoker for the first time in almost two years.

According to Poker scout, it is the first time that the top four cash game sites got a big change in 93rd week. Traffic to online Party Poker increased by 20% that week due to the return of the cash machine promotion. While the traffic at iPoker Network starts decreasing at the same time and the reason behind this is that iPoker changed their rake calculation from dealt to contributed method.

Most of the players who wants to win huge bonuses; likes dealt method because it allows them to earn credit for raked hands while folding the majority of their hands. While due to this method change, the network lost those players who were just playing for bonuses.

Also, at the end of 2009, iPoker announced that they are going to clear-out on their room that is offering rake-back. Also some winning players were really told they were no longer welcome, and those who had been receiving rake-back may need to move to other rooms.

Now five week has been passed, and Party Poker.com is still in the third place in the cash game rankings. According to Poker Scout, its seven day normal for cash players is 5,400, a solid 550 players ahead of iPoker. It still has a long way to go to catch either PokerStars or Full Tilt, which has seven day averages of 32,800 and 16,600, respectively.

According to Poker Scout it’s been reported that there were also some other changes in the first week of February. The Cake Poker Network, the Micro-Gaming Poker Network, and the International Poker Network keep jockeying for the eighth, ninth, and tenth spots, with Cake and Micro gaming currently tied, just 100 players ahead of IPN.

Everest Poker move slowly ahead towards the Cereus Network into sixth position, while Pacific Poker has moved ahead of Sweden’s Svenska Spel into 12th place.

We succeeded in bringing you the first real-time updating HUD for Rush Poker.”

The PokerTracker HUD within Rush Poker works just like it was working for any other tournament or the cash game. But there are some cautions outlined by the development team that is:

  • With the release of Beta 30.2 there are no meeting stats or hero stats available and you will not be able to mark hands for review via the HUD.
  • All player notes will need to be added promptly (before the players change) and mucked hands will not be displayed.

This update has not been tested yet but you can use it at your own risk. And unfortunately Mac users won’t be able to use this feature of Rush Poker as thee patch file is available for Windows XP, Vista, and 7.
