Commencing on September 1st Full Tilt Poker, the world’s second largest online poker site, is ‘Take 2’. The classic site is now offering players the chance to score an extra $50 and double Full Tilt Points (FTPs) throughout the 30 days of September.

This Take 2 poker promotion involves four different prize levels, starting with Level 1, which awards $5 for five days’ worth of play. Level 2 means that online poker fans will take home $10 for 10 days of play, or $15 total when combined with the first reward. Players who skirmish for 15 days on two or more tables on Full Tilt will pocket an additional $10 for a total of $25. The pinnacle of levels is number four; play for 25 days and customers will earn an extra $25 for a total of $50.

When you play as part of FullTilt Poker’s Take 2 promotion, the number of FTPs will double on two cash game tables. As an example, if you were to accrue 30 FTPs at one table and 55 at another, you’d actually take home 170 FTPs (two times 85 FTPs). The Take 2 is an opt-in promotion. Swedish mystery man “martonas” continued to play extremely well on Full Tilt Poker this weekend with Pot-Limit. The main recipients of martonas’ greenbacks was Tom “durrrr” Dwan, of course, who racked up more than $1.1 million in winnings in this weekend’s online action. Dwan wins a million, martonas loses a million

On the weekend the action was already thick at the $300/$600 PLO tables and the pot sizes were $200,000 and one $461,000 developing between martonas and Dwan. Playing five-handed, Patrik Antonius opened for $2,700 from under-the-gun, martonas raised to $9,600 from the button, Dwan flat-called from the big blind and Antonius called as well. That night alone, martonas lost over $961,000, putting him close to break-even for the month of August after being up more than $2.4 million at one point.

Ashton Griffin picks up $1.3 million in Saturday’s action

Martona was however immediately back in action on Saturday afternoon, and bought in for a short stack on four different $300/600 PLO tables. The big winner was Ashton “theASHMAN103″ Griffin, who lead with around $1.3 million in winnings including a $239,000 pot from Patrik Antonius. Playing seven-handed, Griffin opened for $2,800 from UTG+1, Antonius flat-called from early position, and Andy Bloch called from the big blind. Though martonas finished his $300/600 PLO sessions with just over $350,000 in profit, he shifted over to heads-up play where he lost $250,000 to Phil Galfond.

POKERBLUFFS takes a shot at the nosebleeds, wins half a million

Another player going by the name “POKERBLUFFS” took a shot at $500/$1,000 No-Limit Hold’em and came away with $500,000 in winnings, most of it coming at the expense of Di “Urindanger” Dang, who dropped $236,000, Rafi “howisitfeellike” Amit, who shed nearly $200K, and David Benyamine, who left the tables $155,000.

Playing heads-up, Benyamine limped in on the button, POKERBLUFFS raised to $4,000 from the big blind, and Benyamine made the call. In the end POKERBLUFFS turned up Jack Jack for the rivered set and one can only wonder what Benyamine mucked as the $198,977 pot was moved the other direction.

Blue Monday for martonas as Sahamies gobbles up $390,000

In Europe, Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, Patrik Antonius, and martonas led the action at $300/$600 PLO. Joining them were Di “Urindanger” Dang, Hac “trex313″ Dang, Richard Ashby, “HarrisMP” and John Juanda. Nearly every player who stopped in enjoyed a profit, with martonas suffered all of the losses, dropping over $623,000.

Sahamies was the big winner, pocketing $390,000 after winning three of the session’s biggest pots including this hand against martonas. Sahamies opened for $2,600 from UTG, and martonas three-bet to $9,200 from UTG+1, chasing away HarrisMP, Antonius, and Dang. Ultimately the turn was the ‘8’ , the river was the ‘4’ , and Sahamies picked up the $183,910 pot with tens full.

This weekend is all about money where poker is concerned. At least $5.7 million will be available weekend as part of the 13th Full Tilt Online Poker Series. The $535 buy-in Main Event enriches the merriment and comes with a $2.5 million guaranteed prize pool.
